1984 – IS BIG BROTHER HERE YET?
By Bob Paquet
May 31, 2013

Satire - a way of using humor to show that someone or something is foolish, weak, bad, etc.humor that shows the weaknesses or bad qualities of
 a person, government, society, etc.

If you are not familiar with the novel “1984” by George Orwell it is about living under an omnipresent government which watches everyone closely and persecutes all individualism and independent thinking as thoughtcrimes. Individuals are subjected to mind control and are expected to think and live according to the dictates of an elite political party. Right and wrong, good and bad, and all other rules and regulations are dictated by the government.

Sound familiar? As I see, hear, and experience more and more of the policies of the current government in the United States I am becoming more and more fearful that we are headed for a government of the party, by the party and for the party. I must admit, I also am beginning to think like Pontius Pilate – “What is truth?” Having said this, I will now list characteristics about me that I believe may cause or have already caused me to be under surveillance (drones – Google internet - webmail) and perhaps subject to IRS or Homeland Security scrutiny. (I don’t think I am paranoid – BUT what if my computer is bugged and Eric H. Holder, Jr. personally signed the authorization). If you happen to agree with any of this be careful –BIG BROTHER IS WATCHING AND LISTENING! In fact, your taxes could increase and you may never be able to form a tax exempt organization, or get into most of the (politically correct) Universities – and the loss of these benefits are just the top of the iceberg. Oh, and you may have a problem getting medical care under the Obama Care plan. Euthanasia may be your only way out. (Euthanasia is illegal in all states of the United States. Physician aid in dying (PAD), or assisted suicide, is legal in the states of Washington, Oregon, Montana, and Vermont. The key difference between euthanasia and PAD is who administers the lethal dose of medication.) DUH!

MY DISCLAIMER: (To be safe – I think)
(This is a politically incorrect disclaimer but I like it.)
I probably do not agree with everything that anyone has to say, nor have I ever totally agreed with anyone I have met in life. This probably includes you. And there probably isn't anyone out there who agrees with everything I believe or have to say either. I am not your spiritual father, teacher, and definitely not your Lord or the Holy Spirit, nor am I your priest (See Matt23:8-10, Heb3:1, 1Peter2:9, etc). If I only referenced sources that I considered perfect, then I probably wouldn't be able to reference any, including my own. Now that I have said that, I do believe there is truth to be found in every teaching I do. It is up to you and the Holy Spirit in you to discern what is good, and to ponder or reject the rest. So, that is all I have to say about that, thus ending my disclaimer.

Note: This list is NOT everything I believe but perhaps
the most dangerous from the point of view of much of our government.

I am a Christian, I believe in Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior, I believe the Bible to be the infallible, inspired Word of God as written not as interpreted by a multitude of commentators, and (I also thump it on occasion). I believe that faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God not by reading commentaries. I am a retired (retarded?) 72 year old Pastor and believe that I have the right to speak in public, to preach any sermon freely (even about politics) and to teach without fear whatever I believe and/or know that agrees with my faith and conscience (with respect to just laws and without hate or malice - even if the church I belong to must give up its tax free status).  I believe that there should be separation of the government from the church and the church from the government (that 1st Amendment stuff – besides God is the head of both). I am educated with a BS, two Masters degrees and a PhD (meaning I have enough knowledge to realize how little I really know and I am full of BS, MS and Piled Higher and Deeper) and may be considered to be too intelligent by BIG BROTHER (thus a threat because I think for myself). I am a Marine Corp Veteran (which may be a problem because I have been trained in the use of firearms and have taken an oath to uphold the Constitution of the United States). I believe in the Bill of Rights and the Constitution of the United Sates (as written by the Founders of our Nation – not as interpreted by various individuals and Presidential appointed Supreme Court Justices with various agendas).

I legally own firearms (to protect myself and my family from both individuals and the government- that 2nd Amendment stuff). I believe that God gave me the rights of Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness (not the almighty, all knowing, omniscient, government). I believe I have the responsibility to live my life, enjoy my liberty, and pursue my happiness according to my own conscience as long as I do not commit crimes against just laws and I respect the right of all other individuals to do the same. I believe that I am responsible for my own welfare (food, clothing, shelter, etc.) and that I should help those in need. I believe that the government does not owe me or anyone else a (free ride) a living.

I oppose same sex marriage as I feel strongly about the Biblical covenant called marriage, (I do not approve but I am tolerant of Civil Unions that do and should provide the same benefits as being married – the issue seems to be the word and definition of marriage). I believe that God gave each of us free will and He will one day judge how we used it (we each can choose to live eternity in paradise or in hell – freedom of choice). I think that Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts are for non-homosexual boys and girls, (if the homosexual community wants to have gay boy scouts and lesbian girl scouts they can – I do not approve and will not support it and will most likely speak out against it but I will be tolerant). I believe that parents are given by our Creator the responsibility of raising their children and training them not the state. I believe that the family, a mother (woman) and a father (man) are the basic unit of society and should remain so.

I believe that most of the terrorism in the world today is a result of some (crazy – politically incorrect) Islamists who have the same mental problems (mentally challenged- politically correct) as someone in the Ku Klux Klan thinking that their god desires for them to conquer and rule over anyone who does not agree with them and their idea of a god. I will without hesitation fight to defend myself, my family, my friends and my fellow citizens and the United States of America against any people, race, religion, (including “christians” who are not “Christians - true followers of Christ and His teachings in the Holy Scriptures). I do not believe that just because the government legalizes something that that makes it moral or right, ( a lot of people will go to hell if they think they can use the Nuremburg excuse – I was just doing what the government said or what I was told to do). I believe that in most cases politically incorrect is correct (for example, what is wrong with saying I have had a gay –happy -  same sex, - faithful to my wife -  marriage for 50 years or if I want to Dawn my Gay Apparel at Christmas time I will).

I believe that most of the crimes in the world are committed by individuals who are mentally challenged (politically correct), believe there is no judgment (God) after death, believe that their god told them to do it or just have decided that they want what they want when they want it (lust). I believe that abortion is the murder of a baby in its mother’s womb and is not made right because the government says so. I believe that the Ten Commandments were given to man by God and are not Ten Suggestions.

I believe that I have already said too much and without a doubt created friends and enemies so I will stop with these three absolutes (Absolute may be a politically incorrect word in our postmodern society).

I believe that there are absolute truths including the following: 1. The longer we stay here the older we get. 2. If you live long enough you will not get out of this alive (rapture may be an exception to this). 3. The death rate in the world for everyone including politicians, Christians, Islamists, etc. is 100%. WHAT IF THE BIBLE IS TRUE?

Excellent "point of view" and in the end it was "your" point of view (amendment 1 of our constitution).

We are brought up with morals and rights in which we believe. Our constitution is being re-written and it wasn't the vision our nation's founders had once willed and yearned for.

Politics are corrupt and your analogy on "political correctivness" certainly contradicts how we are taught and educated to "think" regarding what makes something politically correct. But in the end the unexplainable agenda our government pursues simply contradicts our innate natural rights anyway. So Its not that your paranoid haha your right- we are all just confused, even your Phd couldn't prepare you for an understanding such as this.

Going back to amendment 1- it was created to protect our personal religious beliefs and traditions by prohibiting any lawful political influence- however, today that is not the case. Politics have influenced our nations natural belief systems as well as our natural rights, - you noted that although you don't agree or believe in some of the lawful decisions made today by our government(We are entitled to our opinions.. right?) you did however mention something our government has forgotten about and that is our natural right of having thought and opinions- I appreciated this blog by you because you made a very valid statement, every-time you voiced your opinion you made a point to say you were still "tolerable" of things you didn't believe or agree with. That is how we lost our freedom of speech and it was long before the day "the music died". We lost the ability to freely preach, speak and express emotion and our own morality without innately having to feel scrutiny or worry that someone else may be offended (freedom of speech was affected by policy changes effecting our original foundations and if policy never influenced these original beliefs maybe we would all respect others opinions anyway), but Unfortunately government has offended that freedom by mixing law with emotion and affecting today's generations of moral character and human nature simply by the greater influence that politics now has over our once founded religious beliefs and natural morals which originally protected our right to have individualistic view points.

What is right and wrong of human character (which is clearer learned through scripture)should of never been "dictated" yes I said dictated by policy (I thought this was a democracy).

Government today has taken control of those thoughts by heavily influencing it with their agenda, in the end "1984" speaks more than numbers or words, its a reality and a perception based on our innate intuition of things we don't understand.

Pipere, I commend you for speaking you opinion and sharing your thoughts as I believe they speak a truth which is derived from your conscience as well as the beauty of intuition which in the end no one can ever content.

It is truly unfortunate that we are now living in a society that wants to inhibit each of us from being a unique unrepeatable miracle. We are all a creation of a Mighty God who desires that we experience the entirety of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Unfortuantely there are so many in this world who I would call evil - their sole agenda seems to be to make zombies of each of us.....
